Overview
Several new “GEO” TLDs are launching, as part of the overall new gTLD program, to allow anyone to register domains that represent a local geographic community. By registering a .africa domain, companies doing business within the content of Africa, or organizations serving the surrounding communities of this amazing region, are able register shorter and more relevant domain names for their web site(s).
Africa is the world's second-largest and second-most-populous continent. With 1.2 billion people as of late 2016, it accounts for about 16% of the world's human population. Africa hosts a large diversity of ethnicities, cultures, and languages. Africa also varies greatly with regard to environments, economics, historical ties, and government systems. Dot AFRICA is the perfect extension for anyone living or working in Africa, or who is connected through travel or commerce. If you have a presence in Africa, have African customers, or plan to do business and/or market in Africa, there has never been a better time to register .africa domains for your brand.
Registering a .ist or .africa GEO TLD extension for your brand will help you grow your business, by letting your customers and prospects know exactly who you are, what you do, and where you do it. And it will help boost advertizing and help you promote your business (or yourself) more effectively online, increasing search rankings for your business. Be sure to get the .ist and/or .africa domain name(s) you want before it's taken.
