.abogado is a restricted Top Level Domain (TLD) that aims to promote trust in the professional legal community by creating exclusive online spaces in which lawyers that are regulated and licensed to practice law can present themselves in a distinctive and memorable manner.
.abogado Eligibility Criteria
In order to register register (and renew) a .abogado domain name, the registrant must be a Qualified (eligible) Lawyer. For the purposes of this Eligibility Policy, a Qualified Lawyer is a professional who is licensed to practice law by an approved regulator of legal services in a given jurisdiction. A Qualified Lawyer must be identifiable as a currently licensed practitioner in the public records kept by the relevant approved regulator. Applications for domain names in .abogado using a registrar proxy or privacy service or any other service having an equivalent effect will not be allowed. Providing false information may lead to the deletion of your registration with no refund given. The .abogado registry will engage an independent third party (the Validation Company) to carry out the verification of applicants against the Eligibility Criteria in this Eligibility Policy. The .abogado registry reserves the right for the Validation Company to contact applicants in order to request any further information or supporting documentation that it deems necessary to satisfy itself as to whether or not an applicant meets the requirements of this Eligibility Policy. Validation may occur for each registration year.
Per registry policy, registration fees are non-refundable after the 5 day Add Grace Period regardless of the outcome of verification by the registry. Please note that verification may take longer than 5 days in which case, registration fees are still non-refundable. If rejection or cancellation occurs within the 5 day Add Grace Period a $25 per year ordered is still non-refundable. Certain names may be reserved or considered premium names.
