In light of the ICANN Board approval on 30 October 2009 for a modification to the implementation rules for Uniform Domain Name Resolutions Process, ICANN formally announced that beginning on 10 March 2010 all UDRP’s must be filed electronically. The decision that UDRP claimants and respondents will now be required to provide documents to UDRP Providers in electronic form is one of the most significant changes since the UDRP was implemented over 10 years ago. This is a major step in making UDRP filings more efficient and accelerating the decisions from the expert arbitrators. UDRP Providers no longer have to forward a hard copy of the entire complaint. Providers are simply required to forward a hard copy notice to the defendant that a UDRP complaint has been filed.
